The Disney Wish is Coming Soon

Image collage of the Disney cruise ship Wish

I miss cruising like crazy. For me, a cruise is a great way to vacation; 24/7 food, entertainment, and service. It is the best way to relax and recharge. A few years back when Disney Cruise Line announced they would be adding 3 more ships, my family and I played the game Name that Ship. We tried to put ourselves in the shoes of the Imagineers to name the new ships. Proud to say my youngest guessed Wish as a possible name. The wait is about to be over. The newest ship, the Wish, will be sailing in June 2022.

The Wish is going to be a little different when you compare it to the other Disney ships. I know the first thing that jumped out at me, was that the Oceaneer’s Club will not be on deck 5 but down on deck 2. So kick back and let’s go over everything you can expect on the new Disney Wish.

First up, I’m hungry so let’s check out our new dining options. There will not be an Animator Palate on this ship. The three brand new dining experiences will be Arendelle: a frozen dining adventure, worlds of Marvel, and 1923. Arendelle will feature Elisa, Anna, and the whole gang. While Worlds of Marvel will focus on all of our favorite superheroes. Finally, 1923 is named after the year Walt Disney Studios opened. The theme will be based on the early years of the company. There will also be two new Adult only restaurants: Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté. Both restaurants will have theming from Beauty and the Beast. Along with the adult only dining options, there will also be two adult only bars: The Rose and Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge. The Rose will tie in with Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté. The Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge will transport you to a galaxy far far away. You will be able to sit back and relax as views of distant worlds glide by in the windows.

Next let’s head up to the pool and splash around. Say hello to ten pools, water slides, and a Toy Story splash zone. Plus you will be able to experience the first attraction at sea, the Aqua Mouse. Join Mickey and Minnie Mouse on this aqua adventure as you travel around the ship and through scenes based on the new Mickey cartoons. I’m sure this will be at the top of everyone’s to do list.

Now let’s dry off and check out some entertainment. Aboard the Wish, there will be not one but two movie theaters; Wonderland and Neverland Cinemas. Their names come from Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. Over in the Walt Disney theater, you will be able to see live action, top notch Broadway style shows such as Aladdin and two new shows. To be named later. Finally, there are two new areas for family games shows or comedy acts to perform; Hero Zone and Luna. This is where a family can come together, laugh, and make memories. Which sounds like a good time.

Well it’s finally time to call it a day and head to your stateroom. Don’t worry, the rooms still have queen size beds, split baths, and all the upgraded amenities are still in each stateroom. What has been added is beautiful artwork that depicts scenes from the princesses animated classics. Also there will be princess themed suites. So that your princess can feel like Rapunzel, Ariel, or Aurora.

So are you excited yet? I know I am. Lucky for us, booking for the Disney Wish starts at the end of the month. That’s right! Starting May 27th, booking will be open to everyone for sailings starting June 2022 through to September 2022. Make sure to contact your favorite Vacation Wizard today!
